I am now on my second new ProntoPro. Both units have a rattle sound coming from inside the unit. It sounds like a little piece of plastic may be loose inside.

Does anyone else have any such rattle sound? I did not have any such sound coming from my Pronto TSU2000.

Thanks!!

could be something like a ballbearing, that could be used for the auto activate facility. Other things have similar. So, it's probably not a fault.

Thanks, ajm! Do you have a ProntoPro with the same rattle?

ajm is right. That sound is the "switch" mechanism for the pick-up/motion sensor.

Sounds to me like a loose flange gasket bearing housing {or FGBH.]

Joel, do you have a ProntoPro that does not have this rattle sound? Anyone else?

He does not have a PP, I think it is over his head (that is why he added )

He is just having some fun.

BTW, I do have one, and I must agree with the above comments, it is the auto-on switch that is making the noise.

$1000 for a rattle, I'll stick with TSU-2000, unless I win one of course.

but the tsu-2000 buzzes. So Rattle or Hum. Which if I'm not mistaken is the name of a U2 album :-)

The rattle isn't a design flaw, but rather the nature of the beast. Then again neither is the hum, but the rattle is much less annoying.

For a 1000 Dollars I think they could have used something less crude than a ball bearing!

The traditional solution would be a mercury switch... except that mercury is banned in Europe.
