The Pronto Pro edit software is in need of a big revision, or someone needs to clue me in one heck of a workaround. I'm referring to the software's apparent inability to send IR or RF from any device page I choose! A typical real world system will have some hidden components and maybe a large screen television that has an IR sensor behind the screen and therefore can't be hit with emitters stuck on the front of the unit. So, great you make the hidden components work via RF and the TV work via IR. Well duh! So here I am watching DSS working via the RF... hum dee dum... Oh.. I need some volume changes. Which because I'm nuts, I've got the audio routed through the TV, with the TV controlling volume. That will just work on my hard keys like always... testing .... testing.... the sound of breaking glass.... and the thud of the Pronto landing on the curb. How bad a design flaw is this? I can live without being able to do RF from a home page, that's easy to work around, but I really shouldn't have to change back and forth between devices to accomplish such a mundane task. Philips should enable it on a button by button basis to go IR or RF, or at least let you alias the button to either (and have it actually work that is). WE need the ability to send IR or RF from any device page at will. I'm perfectly willing to alias to an IR device page from an RF to make it work. Sequences should be able to be mixed! Make the macro groups neutral so we can grab commands from RF and have them be RF and IR and have them be IR. How tough can this really be? I won't let another system be spec'd until this is done.
