Does anyone else notice a one second delay before the Pronto Pro changes pages up or down? Is there any way to change this?
Also, after a while if you hit the hard side buttons it takes about a second for the signal to be sent unless you first activate the light. Is this normal? Any way to change it?

Actually, i haven't seen the actual Pro in action (since I don't have one) but I have noticed that PPE operates much slower than PE in all areas--displaying panels, selecting actions, pasting icons, not to mention the emulator. And this is on a new Dell system with 1.3gh processing speed and 384mb of RAM.

Is that your experience as well?

Joel, my ppe and emulator runs at warp speed, even with panels full of graphics. Like you, I don't have pro. AMD Tbird 1gz, 512mb ram.

The Pro itself is much faster than the regular Pronto, but still can take time to draw complex pages. I'd still like to see it faster. ;-)

Well then I've got a configuration problem, because it takes TWICE as long to open a panel, TWICE as long to open the properties menu, etc. All actions in PPE are REEEAAALLLLL SSSLLLLLOOOOWWWWWW.

The emulator however is perfectly normal. Any ideas why that might be?

The emulator has no speed compensation. So it'll run way faster on a P4-2000 than it would on a P2-233 (where it would probably be slower than the actual remote).

I'm not quite sure what to say. Have you downloaded your file lately? :-)

A coupla days ago. I've got a P4-ME. Is there a difference if I donwloaded it from here (which I did) as opposed to off the Philips site?

That double-beep, though, still blows me off my chair. Why is that so damn loud!!!

Well, I donwloaded it from Philips site, and it now operates normally. Dunno if that is because of that, or if, had I simply re-installed the RC file, it would have worked OK, but that's the haps.

I don't make the news, I just report it.

The computer program and emulater are fine. On these the page change is quick. But the actual remote is not. All of the functions seem to work like the old Pronto. Except for the page up or down and the first button press after the screen turns off.
Do others notice the delay on the actual remote?

I have also noticed two types of delays.

1. Large, complex, screens (those with lots of different colored pixels) take a second or two to react to a query. The screen paint itself is fast. It is no doubt related to the speed of the ProntoPro processor. You do not see this behavior on small screen changes.

2. After setting the remote down and letting the backlight go off, any selection of the hard keys takes a second for the Pro to wake up. Isn't really a problem as the command is buffered and executes upon awakening.
