Sorry for the newbie question, but the cheapest I could find a Pronto for were these two places:
J&R- selling TS-1000 for $149
pricegrabber.com- found places selling the TSU-2000 for about $235.
Still debating on whether to get the cheap TS-1000 or to get the TSU-2000 for much more money. I can also get the Denon remote for $150, don't know if that's a bad choice or not- using it with an AVR-3300, so the built-in Denon codes and the joystick make it a plus over the Pronto, but the huge number of CCFs I've found here make the Pronto seem like it will kill the Denon remote.
Any more advice for a newbie? Thanks a lot.

I just went though scouring the web for the lowest price Pronto. Ended up getting a TSU2000 it from www.ecost.com for $225. With the charger and shipping it came to around $300. When you're there do a search for 'TSU2000'.

Advice? Yes.
I own a Denon AVR-3300. From the list of remotes you've given us to choose from, at the very least buy the Pronto TS-1000, not the Denon. I have owned the TS-1000 and now own the TSU-2000 along with my receiver.
I would have stayed with the TSU-1000 had I not got an incredible deal on the 2000.

If you are going to go to the Denon remote- you should at least get the 1mb pronto, for about the same price the ts1000 is much better than the denon, and unless you ahve a huge system you really don't need the extra memory- get the ts1000- also look for used ones, that are in new condition- they are pretty easy to find, and offer a great discount. I've purchased a Marantz rc5000i for off of this site, and a Pronto ts2000 for $190, they were both in perfect condition.

If that TS1000 from J&R is brand new with full warranty, I would have to say that that is prolly your best bet unless you can find a relatively new TSU2000 for less and that would be the exception. However, keep in mind that if you plan to add the DS1000 docking station charger accessory kit, then the numbers will skew because even the lowest priced websites appear to get enough for it to push the sale over $300.00 with ease when they are deep discounting the TSU2000 itself. -Bruce alpha2data on eBayThis message was edited by alpha2data on 09/25/01 10:54.38.

The $149 TS1000 from J&P is a refurbished/factory sealed unit and comes with the full one year mftr. warranty. I paid $20 more and got two more years and $174.93 altogether for a practically new unit. Refurbished or not, with a three year warranty this is a great deal!
