OK, first things first.

All CAPS is considered shouting. Please keep it down, we don't want to disturb any of our more disturbed members any more than they are already disturbed!

Secondly, please explain your problem a little more clearly, what *exactly* do you mean by shut down?

Is the screen turning off? You need to adjust the Screen On Time.

If it's resetting itself (beeping at you occasionally when your not using it), you may need to try re-transfering your CCF to the Pronto or re-installing the Firmware.

But more probably, you need to re-seat the batteries. I don't have the exact thread link right now, but do a search for:

Alpha2data docking station problems

(or some variants, thereof) and you will come up with a nice little tutorial on re-seating.

Sounds to me from what you saying that the backlight is just going off, because it doesn't sound like anything is really wrong.. That's normal

You can adjust the backlight to stay on longer by going to the settings mode. Tap and hold the "Pronto" icon in the top center of the display until the settings panel comes up.

Thanks for the advice. When I start using my remote it will work fine for about 30 seconds then stop responding. The backlight is still on. The screen goes blank and beeps once. After about 5 or 10 seconds the screen says "Pronto" like the first time you install the batteries, beep twice and ready to go.The sceen lights up and its working. I can use for 10 or 15 minutes with no problems. But if i stop using it and try to use it the same problem. At first I though it was the batteries that were dying. So I installed the rechargable battery and put it on the charger over night.I hade already knew about the thread on installing the battery.Alpha2data is the one bought the remote from and I received a link to that thread. But I have already reseated the battery and the problem persists.

Try reflashing the Pronto, and downloading your ccf to it a few times.

Hi "Micro22"

When I just saw this thread and the problem I did a userInfo on eBay. If the number listed for you is not current there, please call me on my 800# and I will try and work this through with you or do a no cost exchange, possibly right at a local branch in your area, if it is defective since it is within 30 days.

One other note.... The FAQ I sent you with the link you refered to stated in the last paragraph:

"Last, please note that as your dealer, online or not, I am your first line of defense for any problems or issues. I am here to serve you. You can always contact me toll free at the number just after my sign off"

Those were not just idle words, and though I leave the programming issues to the brilliant folks in this forum, I don't want anyone who has dealt with me to be frustrated with an equipment issue or problem dealing with the Pronto itself.
