I just got my hands on the Sony DVP-CX860 and am trying to set up my Pronto to control the Jukebox using Super Nudelist. I am having some trouble and am hoping for help.

I want to use only DVD titles (not genre) so when I go to the alphabet page on the Pronto I can jump to all the movies starting with the letter picked. I tried entering only the movie title but got an error in when running SNL. Is this even possible?

My other problem is that SNL didn't allow me to use the keypad in my CCF. Besides being named 0-9 are there other restrictions on the number buttons?

Any example CCFs of finished DVD jukebox systems would be great, too?

Thanks,

Mitch

I have looked at SNL but I have not used it.

But if I remember correctly
1) the buttons 0-9 need to be on a device panel (they cannot be under home or Macro groups)
2) even if you want to use titles you must still enter something in Artist (where you would put the Genre for a DVD), all you need to do is press the "Edit list" button (pick the device name) and enter "letters>discs" in "level".

Leo was kind enough to give me this link, which goes to the supernudelist page with the latest version of the program. I can't believe the difference. My problems with 0-9 buttons are now gone.

But, I can't figure out how to use just DVD titles. I am starting to think this is not possible.

What are other DVD / SNL users dealing with this. Are you using genres?

Why don't you use the Disc Title as the Disc name and the genre as the 'Artist'. This way you can search by genre first and then select your movie.

BTW-I am thinking of buying an SONY-870 soon so that I can use Nudelist for my DVD's and throw away about 10 dozen DVD jewel boxes. What has been your experience with the player. Are you happy with it? The reviews don't have much good to say about it and they recommend the Pioneer instead (which IMHO does not look very attractive)but I am partial to the SONY brand and think that it can;t be all that bad.

So far, I have been happy with the Sony 860 - I am still setting it up using the Super Nudelist (Thanks Leo). It is weird to have to have the long pre and post macro to change discs but it does work.

The picture and sound are both as good or better than the Toshiba (older model) or Philips (825AT) players I have.

I have not used the Pioneer and got a great deal on the Sony.

I know Mitch is sorted now, but in case anyone else is wondering about having just DVD Titles and no "artist" level, you can select the list in the tree and change which of the levels are included in the list so that the alphabet page goes straight to titles.

First a huge thank you to Leo for not only creating the Super Nudelist and letting folks use it for free but also for helping people figure it out.

SNL is well worth learning, it is a fantastic utility and I can't imagine owning a dvd / cd jukebox and not using this program (assuming that you own a pronto).

Mitch,

SNL is awesome. Glad you enjoy it. Leo is running a close race right now with Daniel regarding the individual who has contributed to making all our lives easier.
