Fellow Forum Browsers,
I'm considering the purchase of a 2nd Sony CDP-CX400 CD changer to sit behind my first changer. I'm interested in knowing how others who might have this configuration and a Pronto/Marantz remote with SuperNudeList have gone about programming the remote/configuration the players behind a receiver.
Are your CCF's 'mega' changer friendly? Right now, I have my current changer and disc list set up in SuperNudeList but am concerned about 'stacking' a 2nd player as the slave to the first one as SNL does not appear to be 'mega' changer friendly.
Please reply with your thoughts, favorite configurations, etc.
Thanks, Lyndel

Although not what you requested, I don't have my cd info programmed onto my pronto. Instead I use some software/hardware to control my 2 cd changers (cx350/cx450). It's from Nirvis systems ( www.nirvis.com) and it's called sline-e (h/w) and cdj (s/w). It does mean that you have to use a pc to control your cd changers, but I love the solution. My pronto does control my 2 dvd changers however (not via supernudelist).

I think some people are using Super-Nudelist with piggybacked Sony CD megachangers.
What makes you think it won't work?

I'd like to know how it works with the piggy-backed setup, being since the mega button seems to only be available on the front panel, not on the remote. Unless I am missing something.
If someone could come up with a working model, I would be interested, since I have a client who is interested.
Thanks in advance,
JJP

I'm controlling two Sony CDP-CX450 Mega Changers with my Pronto and SNL and I'm able to remote control the Mega Button also. Following you'll find the IR code to control the Mega Button. I think it should work also with your CX400 changer also.

Thanks for the info, Wolfgang. Although I'm not a newbie to programming of Pronto-like remotes, I have yet to play with the SNL, let alone with more than one changer.
I tried downloading the recommended files to begin the process, but it really screwed up my computer. Example being, when I tried to delete any CCF's, the computer would lock up and I would have to turn off the power to the computer and then back on again to reset it. Maybe I missed something in the setup of the files... who knows.
Anyway, I'm not off to a good start with the SNL, let alone setting up a file that my client could use. Maybe Leo could step in here and help me out, I would appreciate it.
By the way, I would be using SNL with RC5000 setup.
Thanks in advance,
JJP

JJP,
Don't give up on SNL. There is a learning curve but the results are well worth it.
Leo has been extraordinarily helpful in answering questions. I will happily offer help as well from someone who just went throught the whole SNL process.

Leo,
SNL will work wonders but, here's my dilemma. I'm using Ch - on the RC5000 to access my CD list. After selecting a CD, I want to jump back to my CD Player control panel. After some further thought/research, I could have my 'After Disc' button stop one player and start the other as well as other things I'll need to stuff into 'After Disc' to switch receiver inputs, etc...
The major point I was wanting some enlightenment on was the 'mega' changer capability built into the Sony CD changers. I've read what Sony has to say but was wondering whether or not a 2nd daisy-chained player using RCA line in/out would play through the master fiberoptic output. If so, I can go with daisy-chaining, otherwise, I'll have to set up the 2nd player as a separate input on my receiver and complicate my CCF just a bit with all the jumping between 2 devices. I don't mind but the 'wife' factor comes into play here.
Anyway, to all who responded, many thanks.
