I never thought I'd have this sort of trouble figuring out my Pronto:

I set up all my devices' remotes into their categories via the "learn/use" modes. I have even customized buttons within their respective pages with correct names.

It works fine, but I'm basically using it only as a basic universal remote, swithing from device to device.

I would like some help on doing the following simple (i think!) things:

1. changing the text on the home page buttons to rename them as i want.

2. creating a whole new "device" called, for example, Power Page, where i could have all on/off commands.

3. advice on training commands from a sony dvd with that stupid shuttle jog wheel. all i want is fast forward and reverse(!)

4. other than the FAQ here, any pointers to "pronto for dummies" or something like that?

thanks.

You can also read the review (it sounds funny that a review will be helpful, but Daniel goes into detail of his first experience with PE)

You can also read the manuals (you can also look at the ones for PPE, RAVEdit and RC5000setup, they are mostly the same software and each manual has its strong points), you can find them in the file section on this site.

I find a good way to start is by looking in the file section at some of the other CCFs.

Everything is much easier with PE, but here is what you can do with by using the remote by itself

1) the autogenarated home page takes the name from the device list, so you will need to rename your devices.

2) do it on the macro side

3) jug wheels are hard, the best advice is to use PE and to download someone else's work, it will save you a big head ache

1) Go into label mode
2) activate the device list
3) press the left button, while you are pressing it press the device you want.
4) do 2-4 for the rest of the devices
