Can someone with a Cinema 7 remote configure it with the 0176 setup code (it is supposed to toggle a Yamaha 2095 receiver's power) and then learn the power code into their Pronto/RC5000? I would like to try the code and see if it toggles my Yamaha 992's power (this receiver just has discrete on and off, no power toggle).

I really have no idea. I was just about to check the review section here to see what exactly a Cinema 7 is! If you have a Cinema 8 and have the time, I would love to try the code if you can learn it into your Pronto.

I believe the 2092 and the 992 are essentially the same (and the 2095 is the same as the 2092 except it has DTS). They both come with large silver remotes that only have discrete on and off power buttons. If you find a power toggle code for the 2092, I'm almost sure it would work on my 992. So let me know.
BTW, did you see my second email? After I emailed you that the codes did not work, I looked at them (hex). They were all zeros.

Lost in transit hmmm I resent them with the hex code only. Give me a few minutes for the 2092

on the way now. also did you try stacking the on off descrete ? meaning edit them together one after the other ? or repeated in the hex codes? onoff , on offon , onoffon etc. you might be able to come up with a fix that way , it has worked for me before. nite zzzzzzzzzzzz

Andrea, if Kev sent you a V2 CCF and you opened it in 1.05 you will see all zeros.

Peter, that was it. The second CCF worked but, alas, the codes were discrete. Kevin is going to try some other universal remotes for me when he gets time (after he cops some Z's). However, it didn't sound like he had a Cinema 7. Anyone have both a Cinema 7 and a Pronto?
BTW, here's the reason for this exercise. :-)
My primary receiver is the newish Yamaha RXV1000. It only has discrete on and off power like the 992. This works just fine on my RC5000. The 992 got demoted to the upstairs bedroom home theater. I use a Home Theater Master MX-500 remote with it. With the MX-500, lcd buttons are at a premium since there are only two pages of them (each page can hold only 10 lcd buttons, and with all the receiver DSP modes, you use up your lcd buttons fast!). Right now, I have the MX-500 main power button for the receiver set to the discrete on for the 992 and an lcd button for off. I want to take the "off" off the lcd and change the power button for the device to be a toggle power like all my other devices. Hope this makes sense.
