I am just in knots. I purchased a pronto a few weeks ago and, up until now, have been having a great time customizing it. My problem is that I have a Toshiba 55" Theaterview TV but no remote to learn the IR codes. I dont know the model # of the tv so downloading any ccf files has been a futile task. My question is: can I find the IR codes anywhere on this site so I can use customizable buttons or do I have to use the hideous buttons given in the "brand mode menu?"

Any help and insite would be greatly appreciated

Thanx,
Troy

Troy:

You are never locked in to the buttons that are part of the standard CCF files. Take a look at the FAQ and there are some excellent button designs as well as overall CCF's in the file section.

It would be helpful if you knew the model number of your Toshiba. There are several system CCF's that have the IR codes for big screen Toshiba's. You might want to play around a little bit or, learn your own IR codes assuming you have the remote. It is pretty easy to do.

Maybe someone else can help here.

Good Luck,

Look on the back of the TV, there should be a label that specifies the Serial Number AND Model of the TV.

Good luck!

Upload your CCF and save it. Then download "default.ccf" from the Samples sub-directory.

Next go to the TV device, and run the UDB, and see if any of the built-in codes work with your TV. If you find one, save the device as "New TV" and upload the CCF and merge it with your custom one.

If you don't find one, then you'll have to try the assortment of Toshiba CCF codes on this site and see if any of them work. If your TV is new, there MUST be a model number on it somewhere. Don't you have a manual? If no, AND you have no remote, did you buy it off the back of a truck?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I greatly appriciate them. I'll try them out today.
Oh, and, the reason for no remote is that my brother works at Soundtrack and he talked his boss into giving him a smoking deal on a floor model. One of the reasons it was a smoking deal was that there was no remote.
Also, I cant really get around to the back of the tv to check the model # as I am a quadreplegic in an electric wheelchair. I guess i'll have to wait for my brother to check it out :o)

Again, thank you all!

One final thought:

If you can get a model number [your brother should be able to get that] you can probably buy a remote from Toshiba.

Good luck. Let us know how its going.

Troy,

I have a CCF for a Toshiba TN50X81. I think there was also a 55 inch version at the time I bought it. Mine is a 4x3 aspect ratio and says 'Cinema Series HD' on the front. You could just save your CCF and load mine to give it a try. I'd be happy to email it to you or you can get it in the files section.
