Is there a way to cancel a macro (a long one) while its running?

Basically, I though I'd make a macro that scans through my favorite radio and TV stations. But when I tried it, I realized that I couldn't stop it and I have to wait until it was done.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can auto-scan stations and stop when I've reached one I want?

Press the same button again that started the macro and see if that doesn't stop it where it's at.

Mark, during a running macro, you should see the word "STOP" over the Right Hard button (at least it does on the RC5000i I'm using). You should be able to just click the right hard button, and the macro will stop.

Cool, your right, there it is "STOP". Now I wonder if the other users (girlfriend) will know what to do?

Thanks, I searched before asking and didn't find it.

The “Stop” button will only appear when you have a Macro in the “Macro Group” of the Pronto.

Oh, that's nice to know.

But I assume that I can alias the macro in the 'macro group' from the 'device group' and still get my stop button.

My original marco was on the 'device group'.

The “Stop” Macro Command should only appear in the “Macro Group”. This also goes for aliasing a Macro from the “Device Group” to the “Macro Group”. The Left Side is the “Macro Group” and the Right Side is the “Device Group”.

Are you sure the “Stop” command you sow wasn’t something that you entered? Such as in the “Properties” Menu.

Andrew, your right. You can't alias to the 'macro group' from the 'Device group' and still get the 'stop' on the right hard button. I wish I could, but I might have to modify my design, like jump over to the 'macro side' to do my scans.

I wish I could add 'Stop' to the buttons anywhere, but I don't think that the 'stop' command is options to us users/programmers. Idealy, I'd have a 'Scan Stations' and a 'Cancel Scan' button next to it for the everyday users.

That's ok, I'll jump to a 'marco' screen and put some instructions and an arrow pointing to the appearing and disappearing 'Stop' right hard button.

You could always do what Wade originally suggested and just Tap the Macro again to Stop it.

Pressing the macro button works great. When I orginally tried that, there wasn't a 'beep' and I thought it wasn't working.

The new idea for other users it that have the graphic change to a 'cancel' button while the macro is active, then everyone knows how to cancel.
