Just got my hands on my first ProntoPro on Monday. I tried to upload a CCF to the remote, and an error was reported while uploading. Now the remote tries to boot up and I assume revert. The title screen will appear, "PLEASE WAIT" pops up, then the screen goes black, a beep, and the whole process starts over again. I have tried resetting, and leaving the battery unplugged for 24 hours. Does anyone know a master reboot of some kind so I don't have to send this back to Philips? Thanks in advance for your help.

Try downloading the firmware. This is the standard response for other models when this happens.

You should NEVER cancel a download. [I know you didn't - it just reported an error.]

[BTW, it is a "download" when going from PC to Pronto, an "upload" from Pronto to PC.]

Thanks for the suggesstion Peter. I tried this, and ProntoPro Edit didn't recognize that the remote was connected. Upload/download error a result of one of those long days. :o)

If it is the same as other models, you have to keep on trying. It only works during a small window in the reboot cycle.

There is a thread about similar problems someone was having with a Pro. They ended up using Hyperterminal to fix it.

Thanks to all for your help. I've been in the custom audio/video business for 10 years now, and I truly have found this site to be the single most helpful and useful resource that I have ever encountered. And that goes for remote control questions as well as product. It's nice to be among others who are both knowledgeable and helpful at the same time. Thanks again.

After Eagerly awaiting the the delivery of my Pornto (the anticipation of which I haven't exprenced since
I was 11 and it Dec 24th) I plugged it in to do my first download and Hello, " Constant reboot mode" Looks like this is happening quite a bit. I saw what Daniel did to fix his but never saw a conclusion from Kabster (other than the obvious -Drunk and sleeping alone. Believe me, I can relate). What is the bit and speed setting for hypertext and once in, exactly what needs to be done? I feel like Santa dropped off BB gun and no ammo....

Follow the thread at the end of my rebooting hell p
thread it will lead you to the answer.I use the search and peck typing method , thats why my posts arn't too long :-)

"Connect your remote to your PC.
Open a terminal program (such as HyperTerminal, which is included with Windows).
Connect to the serial (COM) port your remote is hooked up to at 115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
and no flow control.
Hit the reset button on the back of your remote control. On the terminal program you should start to
see numbers such as "00 02 04", etc.
Hit the [ESC] key on your keyboard. A prompt, CABERNET> should appear.
Type dl ccf followed by return. You should see a slowly growing string of C's.
Download your CCF file to the remote using the XModem protocol (Transfer -> Send File).
When the download has finished, type go followed by return."

Found it and it works! Thanks Santa. My Pronto TS-1000 CCF works and using Super Nudlist I was able to
get 280+ CD's and tracks loaded up. Life is good. Now
once I have to do the conversation to color it will be
like stating all ove again. Also, Daniels details on how to code the right hand hard button is a very good primer on how to get around this little bug.

Just wanted to let all know that by d/l the ccf file through hyperterminal worked like a charm. Thanks again for the help. Helped me end the week on a good note. :o)
