It works fine in a relatively simple configuration, but I didnt buy it for a 'simple' configuration. I was counting on being able to use that extra ram and have a ccf of 2-3 megs. Add the channel logos and it probably wont upload. I think that the merge option with 2 files will be a good fix for me, just kinda given up on programming it for the last week until I have more time to put into it. The artwork just takes so much time, especially since I am no artist but Coreldraw works well and online searching has resulted in some good help tutorials.

Well, it looks like this bug has struck.
My situation seems to be a bit different; I have two ccf's, one is 602K and the other is 606K. The larger loads fine while I get a message that there was an error downloading to the Pronto. The difference in the smaller file is that I have deleted the "inactive icons" and modified the text used for the buttons throughout ccf to use the same colors. It seems to work when downloaded to the ProntoPro but there is so much complexity in my system it's hard to trace intermittent problems when the macros don't work.

Please forgive me if I am stating the obvious. I plead my newbie status (about 10 days). But I think I have found a workaround to this bug that works, at least for me. I'll try below to set out the steps I took.
First, the problem: I have created a large ccf file that utilizes DVD jacket pictures and color graphics for cable channels and has about 7 devices. The volume up, down and mute were not working on the cable. I used learn on the ProntoPro to correct the three hard keys described, but, naturally, I slammed head first into this bug because when I tried to upload the changes the edit program would not accept the upload and subsequent downloads erased my work.
What I did was this: I deleted all of the devices, panels and macros from my proedit ccf file except for those related to cable and saved it under new name. I then downloaded this new ccf to the ProntoPro. Then I caused the ProntoPro to learn the codes for Volume up, down and mute from the original remote. After successfully uploading this from the ProntoPro to the edit program, saving it under a new ccf, I then reopened my large original ccf file in edit. I deleted the original cable features from that original file and then merged the new ccf cable file with it and saved. After downloading the new large ccf file to the ProntoPro, SUCCESS!
But what a way to "run a railroad!" Philips better get on the stick and fix this bug.

You have it right. That is a good workaround.

I'm seeing this issue on my brand new ProntoPro. I downloaded the latest system code (SYS 1.1 App 1.3) and the latest version of ProntoEdit (3.4.0). I can't upload anything from the ProntoPro to my PC. This aggravates the fact that I also can't use the "Learn IR" function of ProntoEdit since I'm running W2K and ProntoEdit crashes everytime I try to learn a code... so basically, I can't learn on the remote and upload, and I can't learn in ProntoEdit... Help! I just spent a heck of a lot of money on a non-programmable remote...

Don't learn while connected to Pro Edit - it's very common to crash W2K if you try. Learn to the remote, then upload to the computer. As far as uploading is concerned, first thing to try is make sure the remote is on (tap the screen) before trying to upload. Hope that helps. Jim L
