I cannot get rid of the "+" symbol indicating "needs programming" when I move a device from the "device" area to the "macro" area. When I view IR I do see the IR codes are there. I have read FAQ B4-08 and indeed is true except in the "macro" area "needs programming" is grayed out. I have run the specified init programs. What am I missing? Should I just be content with the non aliased IR codes being in the device section, in spite of it appears that most of the CCF wisdom has them under macros?

What exactly do you mean that you have run the "init" programs?
It sounds like your Pronto.ini file still needs to be changed. The easiest way to do this is to download, unzip and run Daniel's Pronto.ini Workshop, available from the CCF Files section here. It will take care of ALL .ini updates (or just those you want) and provide a way to restore it to the original settings if you so desire.

You need Developer=1 in your ini file.

You can only remove "Needs Programming" from devices/groups on the Device side (though the "feature" will still operate on the macro side...)
