I can't get my Pronto to work on my new laptop. I do not have a serial port so I got a USB to serial adapter. This also doesn't work Does the Pronto work on ME? Has any one tried this configuration? If I can't get this to work then I'm going to have to give back the laptop @ the cost of 150 restocking fee!
Help.

Make sure you aren't using a PDA Serial to USB Adapter, these won't work with the Pronto.

I use a KeySpan High Speed USB-Serial Adapter (USA-19W) on my Desktop PC after having much difficulty connecting serially. I simply used the default installation for the adapter (it installed to COM4 on my PC) and have had no problems since, others have reported problems with this adapter and/or installation. There are several different Adapters that people are using to connect in situations similar to yours.

Do a search on this site for "connection problems" and you will probably learn a lot.

Also make sure that you have no COM Port conflicts on COM1 (HotSync, ActiveSync, MODEM, etc).

I too am running WinME and using a Belkin F5U103 usb/serial adapter. I'd say it works 90% of the time.

good luck
