When it comes to figuring things out I usually get it first time, but I just want to make my Philips pronto work for me so that I can get rid of all the other remotes I have. All I want to do is to use the standard pronto interface but get icons such as On digital and ondigital channels on my remote so that when I press the icon the Tv changes to the on digital box and I get what challe I am asking for. The Prontoedit seems awfully complicated and there seems to be no easy way.... unless you know how. I have tried to down load ccf files and they are too many unnecessary bits that I don't want. Is there anywher that I can get good plain engish help on prontoedit.
Please help

I agree...I just got one too...Pronto edit is a joke..It could be so much more intuitive...Case in point.... users have had to rally around a website like this to help decipher the few bits a pieces that Philips has chosen to put out...
I wish I had more time, but I dont so Pronto may be back to the store...Pronto..

To fully understand ProntoEdit, you should download the user guide at: [Link: remotecentral.com]Next step... Download the CCF from Daniel Tonks, run the emulator, understand the navigation tool and start working on your own configuration. Best wishes.

Don't worry, getting the Pronto to do what you want is really pretty simple. The biggest problem with it is that the initial learning curve is very steep. You'll feel like you can't do or understand anything for the first few days, then all of a sudden things will start to click. Once you get over that hump, it's more intuitive than you might think, albeit with still lots of room for improvement. If you haven't already done so, make sure you read the FAQ here [Link: remotecentral.com]

eMail me for a ccf with the nokia OD remote, plus all the channel icons you need. Merge it with your current ccf, and then take out everything of mine except the on digital. Does this make sense to you? ProntoEdit is tough to learn but gorgeous once you've got the hang of it. Mark.

I agree that it can seem pretty daunting. If you want lots of special "looks" for your panels you could spend many, many hours doing all the bitmaps and putting it all together. But the ProntoEdit manual actually does a decent job of explaining basic things. The most important thing is to figure out how you use your remotes and exactly what you want Pronto to do. This takes a bit of planning, but once you've done it things should go pretty smoothly. The files section here is also a definite help.
