My problem is that the PE says "Connecting to Pronto", but goes no further--no progress bar movement, no nothing. I'm using a USB to serial adapter, which the control panel says is correctly installed on Com 3. I've also fiddled with the connectors, so I know that's not the problem AND the unit, and the batteries are new. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do a search on "USB". Some adapters do not work.
