Hi I am new at this and I thought the easiest (fastest) way to get up and running would be to copy and existing .CCF from this incredible site and edit it to suit my needs. Specifically there are changes I need to make to channel numbers for direct TV. When I click on an existing (button/bitmap) and try to edit the properties, I can not edit the actions. I would have thought it would be straight forward and just change for example a [B] SAT-2-0 to a [B] SAT-2-3......
How do I get this done? or is prontoedit the wrong place to do this???

Help???

Thanking in advance.

You cannot "EDIT" lines in the Action List. You must (in your example):

DELETE > [B] SAT-2-0
(re)ALIAS to > [B] SAT-2-3

Somewhere in the CCF you downloaded there "should" be a (probably) HIDDEN Panel of OEM Buttons. It is here that you would find "SAT-2-3" to assign to the Action List for the SAT Device.

The [B] Symbol indicates that it "is an alias to another LCD button". However, if there are no HIDDEN Panels, you must LEARN into the Pronto these new values for each change you want to make. Make sure that you learn into the Pronto itself and NOT through ProntoEdit, using ProntoEdit will cause you much frustration unless you get it timed just right.

From your post, it sounds like you may not be aware of the many self-help resources here on this site. So my suggestion is to read the FAQs (several times - all the way through), download the manuals from this site (FAQs too) in .PDF format so they are always accessible to you (you will need Adobe AcroBat to view these offline).

Read Daniel's Review , it is very thorough and helpful.

Use the 'Search This Forum' link for anything you can't find in all of the above.
