I'm considering purchasing the Pronto. However, I have a Sony 300 disc changer with CD Text. Is there any way to get CD information (text) on the remote?

Secondly, I have a Dish Network/Echostar Model 4722 receiver (RF Remote). Is there a device that will convert the RF to IR so the Pronto will control it?

Thanks!

Hi Vince,

The Pronto will not receive "text" from the changer, but what you could do is catalog your entire CD collection in the Pronto and therefore the CD's would already be in the Pronto. You cna creeate this list with a program called Supernudelist. Just do a search for it on this site.
As far as the DishNetwork Receiver is concerned, what you would need is a device that converts IR(Pronto) to RF(dishnetwork receiver). I know there are devices out there that will do this but not sure if it will work with your receiver. I'm sure others will jump in and tell you what they've done.

[Link: ox.compsoc.net] is the URL for Super-Nudelist, if you want it.

Vince,

I also have a DishNetwork receiver. You can do an IR upfit on the receiver like I did.
You can find the details at the following link:

www.carltonbale.com

After this modification, you will be all set and your receiver will get both IR and RF!

Vince,

Further to my previous note, I suspect your receiver is already equiped for IR reception. You may want to double check this on Carlton's site.
