I have just bought the RC5000i and like some of the skins that are downloadable from this site, but does it muck up all the IR codes you "learn" with the unit when you upload the skin?

You can merge two configurations but all that does is gives you the devices and panels from both of them in the same file.

You can keep your IR codes more-or-less independent of your layouts and graphics by putting them on buttons on hidden panels and then creating buttns on other panels which look how you want and alias to them.

Of course, make a backup of your CCF before you do anything to do with merging in case something unexpected happens.

Don't look at the CCF files as skins. The files are really more similiar to a complete application, or a complete remote in itself. The RC500o is simply the platform that these applications run on.. A CCF file has not only the look and feel, but IR codes, macros, etc.

I suggest you read the Pronto FAQ on this site to learn more. Here's the link [Link: remotecentral.com]
