No sign of life from my pronto, the only thing that is happening is that the mute-button light will flash briefly every 4 seconds or so, accompained by a faint clicking noise. I tried to change the batteries, but nothing. I tried to reset it but nothing, not even the 4 beeps. I tried to update the software (forcing the update after I recive the "unable to connect" message) but nothing....
If anybody has any idea please let me know
Thanks

What model Pronto do you have?

It is the RU890 Software version 3.62/4.85 Pronto Edit 1.05
By connecting my pronto via Hyperterminal I just noticed that the Pronto actually is alive but it keeps rebooting all the time and every time it reboots I have a small flash on the mute button. The buttons and the touchscreen do not work at all.
The cause is then probably a corrupted ccf. I tried to upload a blank ccf using the 'dl ccf' command at the hyperterminal prompt but after uplading the file and sending the 'go' command my pronto just keeps rebooting. I also tried more than once to update the software but that does not work either...

Keep on trying to reload the firmware. You need to get it at the right point in the reboot cycle.

I will try
But what should I look for exactly? Now when I do the update it says that it cannot connect to the remote and if I press 'continue' it will ask to manually reset the Pronto. It then downloads the software but after that the remote still keeps rebooting. Also do I have to skip the download of the pronto configuration (it is the first step in the update process)? Final question, is the firmware version V3.62 ok?
Thanks in advance
