Hello,

Do any of you have any experience using this device with your Pronto (or on it's own?) So far, mine isn't very good and I wonder if anyone knows more about why it is so flaky.

Thanks in advance!

Bruce,

Yes I use the Recton DSC100A with one setup I have. I've used it with both the pronto and factory remotes. I had some initial trouble with both the sender and receiver, but resolved both to my satisfaction.

The sender seems to be sensitive to interference from some TV sets. I had to place mine very carefully to find a position without interference. Be certain to find a place where the LED on the sender does not blink in the absence of IR signals.

The receiver IR emitters in my unit were set to an angle of about 45 degrees. It was hard to position the receiver so that my equipment would get the retransmitted IR signals. Finally, I removed the top of the receiver and bent the IR emitters to 90 degrees. Since then the unit has worked great.

Good luck!
