The Fujitsu has video sense that will override a default video source. If you have, say cable and sat from receiver video out to plasma via composite video and component vid from dvd then component video will be selected when the default composite video is dead (ie reciever set to sat with sat receiver off). Picture flips in ugly fashion when switching sources. Was the best I could do. Can't remember all the details of the Fujitsus menu systems, but at the time seemed only control option. Maybe somebody out there has hacked...

Hey Steve,

I don't know what model of Fujitsu plasma you have - but mine definitely does not behave this way. I have to toggle inputs until I reach the right one - quite annoying.

As far as we know, there do not seem to be discrete I/R codes for fujitsu plasmas (not for selecting video input, at least).

According to Alfonso, Fujitsu's code guy, there are no discretes available...it must be done through 232(read:get a Crestron).

Steve is right about the priority toggle. To set it up, do the following.

1.Set the plasma on the input you want to be the default.

2. Enter the "extended menu"

3. Set "input priority" to the input you want to be the override.

4. Hit enter, then exit the menu.

The default input will be displayed if the override input is off...once overrive is on, it will take over!!

Good luck.

The only way to get discrete input control is via rs232. sorry there is no other way.

That is why I have switched so the fundamental control of my house is a PC which can Put out both RS232 and/or IR. The pronto talks to the PC via IR using a single manufacturers format (NEC) and a very inexpensive IR receiver/decoder ($40). The program could be as simple a a VB program that accepts from the Pronto the IR (Device code/key code) and via a table look up decides on what RS232 port what signal is to be sent or what IR is to be sent on what IR port or . . . . Most RS232 protocols require/provide acknowledgement and all that good error free comm stuf, but if you do not do it they almost always obey the command and do not go crazy. Interestingly enough while the mfg are very secrative about their IR codes almost all will provide the RS232 protocols.

Celadon makes a translator from ir to RS232 that can be used with Fujitsu plasme. I have used the protocol and the translator on the PDS4222 with success.

Hey that's cool. I thought not having RS232 was the drawback to getting my ProntoPro as opposed to a Crestron, now I have a workaround. Muchas Gracias

Hi,

My plasma is one of those that do not have RS232 input - so this is not helpful :(

Also, I don't have an "extended menu". I have the regular service menu and the "secret service menu". Neither had an override feature that I could see.
