Since I upgraded to PE 2.0 I cannot set the discreet IR codes. I have tried what is stated on the site and a couple of other areas. I double click on a button, double click on the existing code, it then pulls up the Add IR screen where I can choose to View IR, Test IR, or Learn IR. When I choose to View IR, I cannot edit the codes below. They are "grayed out". The site refers to an Advanced button which I cannot find.

Could the install be corrupted or am I just dense?

Click on "Be sure to read the Pronto/RC5000 FAQ!" at the bottom of this page and then find:

B11−08 In ProntoEdit v2.0, why can't I edit hex codes?

Well I love that I found the answer to my own question, I hate that I have to say RTFM to myself this time.

6) Select (double click) the C:\Windows\pronto.ini file. This will open the file in wordpad for editing. The added entry will gain you access to view and modify hex IR codes.

7) Add the last line of text exactly as shown to the file, then save the file and exit. Your modified pronto.ini file should look like the one shown below.

[fonts]
0 = pronto, 8
1 = pronto, 10, *
2 = pronto, 12
3 = pronto, 14, *
4 = pronto, 16
5 = pronto, 18, *

[ccf]
size = 380
universal_size = 960

[version]
symbols = 1
developer = 1 (<<

Without the last line I could not edit the IR codes.

Yup. I've also got a little utility you can download that'll do it for you.

I also found that in the FAQ recently. Are there any other .ini changes which are helpful?

Daniel's Pronto.ini Workshop that he refers to, takes care of all .ini changes, and allows you to easily revert back to the original configuration if you wish. It is referred to several times in the FAQ (with links if you're reading online) and you can find it in the CCF Files Section as well.

As a side note, if you add a comma and asterisk beside the 8, 12, and 16, you will add those size fonts to your list of available fonts in pronto edit.
