I just brought home my new 2000 and have copied an inch thick book of instructions on how to do everything. Does anyone know of a good summary of what can be done, and a short overview of how. I would like to set up to run my home theater in each of the modes (Cable TV-DVD-Audio CD-Radio). I would like to make sure all in our family can run the home theater system without passing a four hour training progam.....thanks in advance/

Pole, Here's what I did. I asked everyone in the house what they wanted the remote to do for them.
My wife has a hard time getting a DVD to work due to the need to switch inputs on the TV to Video 2 and select the mode and surround button for the receiver. My son on the other hand is well versed in this and can figure out what he needs to switch or turn on.
I'm new to this as well but one thing I've noticed is that you'll be expanding and tweaking the CCF for at least three months if not a year from the time you start.
It's fun to do. Enjoy your new toy and have fun setting it up.

The FAQ (there is a link at the bottom) and the review (there is a link on the side) is the best place to start. We are here if you have any specific questions or something you do not understand. Like Frank said you will always think of something better, or get bored with the same old thing, and if you do, you can change it. That is the power of the Pronto.

My wife has the same "limitations" as yours. I am working on a ccf that has "menus" to GUIDE her, while doing most of the work for her. All she needs to do is answer some questions. Example: Lets say she wants to watch a dvd in surround.
She would select the following:
1. Watch Something 2. Watch something with surround Sound 3. Select DVD 4. Main DVD controls show up (play, pause etc...)
(Of course I'm using graphics and few words, but you cant do that here!)
The remote will turn on the correct equipment, etc.. depending on what choice you select.
This is very time consuming, and I haven't even yet started on remote codes, I'm still learning how to alias something, etc....Hell, I don't even own one yet, I'm determined to get this done before I go shoppong for one.
