ok guys this is my problem. I have a pioneer VSX-D3S, which is a reciever from a few years back. I read somewhere the other day that this particular reciever and it's remote uses two different signaling frequencies to send commands. The first is the standard 40Hz, but the second is 1Khz *I think*... My dilemma is I can't get the one main key that turns on AC-3 decoding to work. Does anyone know if this is one of the keys that falls into the "1Khz" frequency??? Also, and more importantly, does anyone have any idea how I can find out the discrete code for this operation, or work around to make it work with my pronto???

I've been pulling my hair out downloading every ccf I can with no luck, if anyone has any suggestions please email me at [email protected] Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

John (going crazy)

This is what I would do.
1) At the top of the screen you will find (here at Remotecentral) you press the word FILES
2) Press on Pronto
3) go down the list and look at the discrete codes section, Pioneer receivers, you can try some of those discrete, but you can also compare them with some of your own codes to find the closest match (this will limit the next step)
4) download the different CCFs for Pioneer, and try them out. Manufacturers tend to reuse the same codes for the same function on different models, maybe someone has the right code.

The Pronto has a much higher range (output) then it can learn. So it might be able to do the command, the problem is teaching it to the Pronto. If someone else has found it, your work is done.

thanks for the info... I've tried the downloading of the CCf files as I said above... but no luck on that... I guess no one obviously has tried to do this, or actually succeeded anyway... I wonder if there's any place that I can get the code.. maybe from Pioneer???

Thanks, please keep those suggestions coming...
