Man does the documentaion stink!!!

1.I am having problems with BOTH these programs in creating buttons to use and having them available in the gallery to select. All I keep getting is the default gallery, how do I get the new ones?

2. after playing with the software and moving buttons around, I want to see hoe they looked using the emulator, but the screens I modified are BLANK. what gives here? Do I HAVE to have assigned remote codes to the buttons before I can see how it will look and function?

3. how can I create buttons for this remote, and change them to the CCF format for recognision by the software?

1.You have to laod the gallery file into PE like you would any other CCf you can then import or merge picures, panels, icons whatever.
2.In order for the buttons to appear in the emulator they must have something assigned to them (you can use a delay if you like)
3. there are several different programs you can use to design buttons (search for infranview to see a good example of one)they must be saved in greyscale and then loaded into PE. bring up the icon page for your button right click on it and select load.

Do yourself a favor dowmload and read the FAQ from this site it will answer all of your questions

1) a) there are several galleries in the Files section (there is a link at this web site at the top of the page)
--- b) a gallery is just a ccf, so if you open the file gallery.ccf (you will find it in the Pronto directory) in ProntoEdit you can make any changes to it that you want.

2) Yes the Pronto will not show buttons (in use mode) that do not have an action (it assumes buttons without actions are meant to be vessels for future use, they are hidden so as not to clutter the screen), an action can be IR, jump, beep, timer or delay (anything under the action tab).

3) the Pronto imports bitmap images (bmp files). they need to be 256 or less colours and no larger then the screen. You add a button the normal way, then you go the icon tab and you load the bmp file.

If you did not get a chance, I would recommend that you read the review (there is some programming help) and the FAQ, and that you look at the file section (there you can find many CCF's, bitmaps, utilities and much more).

OK, one step at a time...I have read changed the HOME page to three buttons....watch TV. watch DVD, watch VCR, added the beep and delay and saved. when I start pronto edit and run the emulator, the buttons and frams are there, but the text is WRONG!! It used the lame default text..CD. Preamp...can you not edit the home page? I created a "hiarchy tree" of how I wanted to lay this out, but if I cant even change the text on the home menu.....

YES I AM READING THE FAQ, but I'm not at that part yet, if it's there...
