This is a little strange. I've been building and configuring my screens for a few days now. The other day I thought I'd create a new home page. Kind of a welcome screen with an "Enter" button linked to a jump command. It turned out fine and worked well.

The other day after a few changes to my Sat screens I noticed a strange overlay problem on my welcome screen.

I have a few Logos on the screen. But I can see the letters “DVD” superimposed on the DTS Logo and the word “receive” over the Dolby Digital logo. I can't see them when I run the emulator. I’ve checked the properties and everything looks fine on Pronto Edit. Aside from this everything else is fine. I could just blow away the screen and start over but I’d prefer to find a solution.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

That happens if all of the following conditions are true:
1. You have at least 1 HOME panel
2. The first HOME panel in the list is called 'home' (all lowercase)
3. The checkbox "HOME panels are write protected" is ON in the properties sheet of HOME

When these conditions are met your Pronto automatically aliases your devices onto buttons on your HOME panel. Hence you see "DVD", "Receiver", etc.

To fix your problem simply make sure at least one of these conditions is false. The easiest is to make sure your HOME panel is not called "home".

I agree... the typical solution is to remove home panel write protection, but then the remote will always boot to the first device rather than the home screen. Now while this is not really a concern -- the remote only reboots when you change batteries or upload a new file -- it still ends up annoying a number of users, especially when they're using the emulator a lot. :-)

Dan , Daniel.

Item 1, 2, 3 All true.

I had lost my Mode button and according to A4-08 in the FAQ one option was my Home config was write protect enabled. I removed the check from the box and my Mode button reappeared. This along with the first two combined to create the problem over a period of 3 or 4 days. It was the getting back my mode button that created home screen overlay problem

Thanks guys.
