Does anyone know if there are differences in contrast and tint between these models? Daniel's review seems to imply that the 2000 screen is bluer, (which would suggest an identical screen for the euro version, the 940), and that the 5000i is closer to the screen of the TS1000 (ie not as blue in tint, and (?)greater contrast.

Would appreciate any feedback on this....

The TS2000 has the advantage of a built-in IR database. (not sure about the RU940).

The 5000i has the advantage of being a little more programmable then the TS2000, at least for the features that I want. It has the ability to fake subroutines, whereas the TS2000 has the ability to set timers. There are other minor differences, which you would work better for you as far as programming depends on just what you want to achieve.

There is no consistency in screen usage across any model. It all seems to be a matter of what screens are in the factory at the time each unit is built.

Which is odd, since I was assured they had standardized on a single screen supply. Wonder if the problem is now they're getting various models, albeit from the same supply!

I don't know if it is a Philips problem, or if it is a problem from the screen manufacturer. Even the original Pronto's had different screens even though they all came from Samsung.
