Does anyone know the advantage of the new Euro RC940 vs. the Marantz RC5000i. Both are said to have 2 megs of memory for ccfs, but supposedly the 940 has more of it available. True?

Also, do both units use the same PE software??

It's up to you to decide what's available on your RC5000i. If both 'em have 2 megs, then they've got as much space as the other one.
Sorry but I don't know about the software.

Go with the RC5000i!

RC5000i uses RC5000setup while the RC940 uses PE.
The RC5000i comes with charger and rechargeable battery, the RC940 has them as add-on accessories.
The RC940 has timers and programmable beeps (so you can play little tunes with it), the RC5000i has multiple page jumps, back command...

If you read the review, and the first section of the FAQ you will get the full difference.
