I have done some configuration to my 2000. One thing I would like is for the unit to alert me when it completes a command. eg. When I press the Home Icon, I want the unit to beep when it displays the home menu. Or for the unit to beep after it goes from the home menu to the device menu. I know it beeps when you press a key. But I want a beep when a command is completed. IS THIS POSSIBLE? PLEASE HELP.

Go to the set up panels and enable beeps. Your pronto should beep when you press any button. For a button that has a long macro in it, you can place as many beeps as you want as part of the macro (see files section for preprogrammed music) IF you are programming with ProntoEdit.
When programming the remote standalone, you cannot do this.

I am award that my pronto beeps when you press a button. That's not what I want. What I want is so that the unit beeps or signals when a task is completed. example---you press the home button, there should be a sound or beep to alert you when the action is completed. Just like when you first turn on your pronto, It beeps twice to let you that it is ready to be used. I just want the unit to let me know that the action is completed. A beep, two beeps, a whistle, anything.

I think what Eric is trying to say is to place a beep of your choice as the last command in the action list. Then, when you press that particular button, when it finishes that list of actions, the last action it carries out will be a beep. If there is a jump, it will *then* jump to wherever it is directed.
I don't think it is possible to cause a beep when a panel opens up though.

go to the files section for the pronto and towards the bottom there are a few labeled music or beeps. i haven't been able to get mine to quite work though, i don't fully understand how i'm supposed to cut and paste them in between macro commands like others say you can do...maybe one day

BB: [Link: remotecentral.com]--- [Link: remotecentral.com]tramahound: what you do to turn a song into a macro (with IR commands) is replace the delays by IR codes. If you want to do a good job (on the sound part) you need to calculate the exact length of IR (time wise), and make sure that it is smaller then the delay (you can make up the difference with an unheard sound.
