One of my devices has <> brackets around it. This is NOT the "is template", "is read only" or "has separator" check off. What is this, and how can I get it and get rid of it? TIA.

Mike, that FAQ doesn't address what I'm seeing. My device is listed -
It's not -(Guide) i.e., template and it's not a template, or
or [Guide], i.e., hidden (and, I can't figure out how to hide a device, just a panel.)
So what is this?

Oh, I forgot. I copied the device, and the copy does not have the <> brackets! What are these guys?

They seem to pop up now and again... but don't seem to signify anything in particular. One of my devices has them. Just ignore it. :-)
