Does anyone know what changes are in and who needs to use the TSU2000 Repair Utility (Firmware Update.exe) listed on the ProntoEdit Web Page?

From the link where the faciltiy is located it states:

"Remark! With this upgrade you can repair your TSU 2000 in case you tried to download previous software on your device. This program runs independently from ProntoEdit. It is not intended for any other device!"

Additionally, I can state that it is also supposed to help those that cancelled a download to their Pronto and rendered it useless (non-rebootable) but should specifically help those that downloaded an older version of ProntoEDIT etc. which sent the Pronto into "paperweight" status.

If your Pronto is functioning just fine, you don't need it. (As in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it").

Does the "repair" do anything for the power strength meter? Mine is still showing half strength after cleaning, bending, removing batteries, etc....

It is not a repair utility as such.

It simply reloads the firmware into the Pronto.

In a sense it is a repair utility as you only need to do it if you have previously corrupted the firmware.

Or if you are one of the very first people who bought a 2000 and you want to upgrade to the later version of the firmware that came out a few weks later.

...And the only difference between this program and the firmware updates of old is that this one is run from outside of ProntoEdit (and is a much bigger download).
