Does anyone have a Discrete "On" code for a Sony DVP-S9000ES DVD player? Of the codes available from the files area, one partially works. I have to activate it in rapid sucession several time before it takes. The discrete "Off" code works fine. Thanks in advance.

Pressing "PLAY" will turn it on...as a last resort.

This is a known issue with the DVP-9000ES. It seems that sometimes you need to send the discrete "on" code a couple of times before it is recognized. I have also seen that the sometimes I have to press and hold the on button on the remote that came with the unit for it to turn on.

What I ended up doing is from my home page when I press a button to "Watch DVD" I send I think 6 discrete "on"'s to ensure that the unit does turn on. Or if I want to turn it on from the device screen I make sure I hold the button down until it turns on.
