Here's a tip that helped me greatly in learning how to use my Pronto TSU2000 and ProntoEdit.
I created a HELP folder within ProntoEdit V2.0 and in that folder I downloaded, then unzipped the FAQ, Pronto & ProntoEdit .pdf files. I actually took it a step further and created a Shortcut to each and placed these in my WIN98 Quicklaunch bar. So that any time I need quick reference to these resources, whether I'm working on my own CCF or online and trying to help someone here at RemoteCentral, they are just a click away.
To get these files (or any of MANY others there), go here:
[Link: remotecentral.com]and download the .PDF files which may help you the most, and save them to this HELP file.
After you have unzipped them and then open them, Acrobat has a search function that is very helpful. Just click on the "Binoculars" in the ToolBar, fill in the blank with what you are looking for and if it's "FIND" isn't what you are looking for, keep clicking on the Binoculars, then "Find Again", until it tells you that you have reached the end and click OK or Cancel. It will loop through the Document, stopping at each "FIND" of your query, until you tell it to stop by clicking Cancel.
If your Desktop doesn't have Adobe Acrobat, version 4.0 is on the ProntoEdit V2.0 CD (as are the Manuals, but not the FAQs), or I think you can download at *least* a "reading" version from adobe's website for free. My PC had version 2 (I think) before I got V4.0 from my Pronto CD, and it was only a "reading" version.
This will, hopefully, help some of you reduce the learning curve when creating your first CCFs. I think, for the most part, after the first few CCFs, it will become a *LOT* easier. . . . 'least I hope so!
