Hi John,

Which model is it?

If it is a TSU2000 brand new, that is a very good deal.

If the bid goes any higher, I have 36 of them on eBay in a Dutch auction closing Monday morning, for $239.99 and I can certify, as well as many others in this forum that have bought them from me on eBay, they are factory new, sealed boxes from a very large distributor of the Philips product line.

I you want to take a look, here is a link to click on for your convenience:

eBay DUTCH AUCTION FOR TSU2000 CLOSING MONDAY MORNING

There is also a Dutch Auction (that is multiple units by the way) on the TSU000 with the DS1000 for $299.99.
That closes Sunday late night at the following link:

eBay DUTCH AUCTION FOR TSU2000 CLOSING MONDAY MORNING

If you are unfamilar with how an eBay Dutch Auction works, just know that all the winners pay the LOWEST _winning_ bid amount. You could bid $500.00 on one of the 36 TSU2000 units and if you were the 1st bidder, 35 other people would 1st have to bid above the minimum for the price to go up even a small amount. That is historically more than highly unlikely.

So, at auction close, if there is even ONE bidder that wins at the minimum $239.99, every one else, including you, still gets it for $239.99. It is a very mis-understood kind of auction to a lot of people.

However, the bottom line is that if there is enough quantity, like the 36 in that auction or the 26 in the "Bundle" auction, you will wind up getting it for the minimum bid.

We did have ONE TSU200 we wound up selling for $230.00 on March28th, but it was a special 10 day offering and it had a $50.00 INSTANT REBATE. So, when it closed at $280.00 after 88 bids, the winner was billed only $230.00.

Here's a link to that one to give you an idea:

The $230.00 TSU2000 WINNING Stats!

Currently that offering has been replaced with a 10-Day auction that ends on April 9th. It for a "Bundle" (TSU2000 with DS1000 Docking Station/Charger/NiMh Pack) and the INSTANT REBATE to the winning bidder will be ***$80.00***. The current bid is at $102.50.

You can view that one at the following link:

The Current TSU2000 & DS1000 "Winner" Could Be YOU!!

Hope this has shed some insight into the pricing of these. If not, just ask away. You have to be the one to decide what a Pronto is worth to you.

Sorry, John... that 2nd link above is correct to the Dutch Auction for the "bundle", it is only the wording for the link that is incorrect.

Here's a "corrected" one:

TSU2000/DS1000 DUTCH AUCTION (26 Units) CLOSING SUNDAY VERY LATE AT $299.99

Actually that "Sunday" is probably Monday now due to daylight savings time kicking in. I'll have to check that out.

OK, I've tried to stay out of this fracas, but now this is a bit much.

FIRST) Bruce, was this you posting all these links in this thread? if so please read the rules below . . . (a partial quote:) "commercial advertisements are
not permitted on this forum. Other buy & sell messages should be posted to
the Marketplace Forum."

If it is you, shame on you!
If it wasn't you, but your competitor(s) then don't you think this has gone on long enough?

I buy a *LOT* of stuff on eBay, and I trust the rating system there. Your rating is outstanding and I would have no problem buying from you . . . **OR** your most often named competitor who also has avery good rating.

This isn't the place for this type of flame warefare. Take it to the courts, take it to the eMails, just take it **OUT** of this forum . . . PLEASE!!!!

Mike...

I can appreciate your angst, but if you follow the messages in the various posts, in each case I was attacked with lies... actually more than simple lies, but gross fabrications inclusive of a specifically designed posting with the heading of:

"CONFIRMED! alpha2data selling refurbished second hand Prontos on EBAY"

Think of how many people don't even read it, but remember it.

I have remained pretty claim through all of this over the past few weeks, but it has gooten worse as of today.

I am sorry if I have offended you. Reverse the situation and tell me how you would feel in the face of such a bold mis-representation.

If anything needs to be policed in this forum more than anything else, it is the sysop allowing people to post those kinds of unfounded fabricated statements without any identification what-so-ever.

Please think about that. I would also add that this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Note also that I have been successfully selling Prontos on eBay for many months and that I have not come here to "toot my own horn" to do that.

I was originally here to monitor the problems of the community of people that represent my target customers. You heard nothing from me until a thread that contained multiple messages that I was selling, or rather must be selling hot (stolen) or refurbished Prontos.

I posted a reply that began with somthing like: "I am alpha2data"

I then left things alone, though I have been accused of mirroring myself for my own purposes. I didn't even bother, nor have I bothered to respond to those accusations.

I believe that the person (or persons??) you should be directing your "that's enough" energies towards are those that start these things in the first place. I am only responding in self-defense. I believe that I have every right to do that. I think you yourself would also do that under the face of the same kinds of unfounded fabricated attacks that have taken place.

It is fine to suggest to take it to the courts. Well, sir, I have, but that does not preclude attempts to destroy one's character or tortiously interfere with another's business in the interim.

Peace, Mike. Although you triggered and subsequently fell in the path of this outburst here, I am not upset with you, and I hope you are not with me.

Other than your posting blatant advertising, which is specifically prohibited here, I am not "upset" at all.

Personaly, I **WOULD** "turn the other cheek". I would simply ignore & track, for future legal proceedings (if necessary). I feel that your constant counter-attacks are only counter-productive to your stance (and the posting of links to your auctions certainly doesn't help).

Your Rating on eBay speaks volumes about your integrity as far as eBay is concerned. But your continuing the fight on this forum is, quite possibly, tarnishing your respectability as a businessman, at least in *my* eyes. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THIS FIGHT.

I commend you for taking a legal approach, but I think your constant replies might be construed as feeding the flames and possibly hurt you from a legal standpoint in the end.

This is *my* belief and position, if you' nor anyone else, agrees with me . . . so be it.

I leave this nonsense (as far as this Forum is concerned) to you.

sick of wasting forum space
Historic Forum Post
I understand your need to defend yourself, and that is fine. But the repeated waste of forum space with your commercial links is really too much. Pleas understand I am a Professional who chooses not to waste my time in the marketplace. Please don't waste my time by bringing the marketplace here and feel free to defend your reputation here without advertisement or e-bay links. Thanxs for being considerate. If you desire my e-mail just post that wish and i will mail you in confidence.

Wow...

We are really getting creative with the anonymous names.

The only thing 2nd hand in this thread or any of the others you have posted in, is your various anonymous identitie_S_ and gross fabrications.
