I just buy this week in Belgium a new pronto RU940 and when I try to use ProntoEdit 1.05 with the RU940 I can not get communication between PC and remote (-> pronto not connected or not responding).

I have try to reset the pronto many times, as suggested, but no way to get connection. I have already used ProntoEdit with a RU890 in the past and so, I do not believe I make a mistake.

The unit can be defective or perhaps the new RU940 I have is not compatible with the ProntoEdit 1.05?

My RU940 seems very close to the TSU2000:

Sys V4.6 09/20/2000
App V5.1 09/20/2000
UDBUSA V1.2 08/21/2000

As you can see this RU940 has the universal data base with the RC5 code and I can use it (I have tested that and it is working fine). So, It seems that different versions of the RU940 exists in Europe!

I have not try to upgrade software because it is a new one and I have read all the warning concerning that in this forum.

I will be interesting to know if a TSU2000 work fine with ProntoEdit 1.05 or work only with 2.0?

Any suggestion to help me?

Still no way to download ProntoEdit 2.0 if it is the solution?

2000 only works with ProntoEdit V2.0

1000 or 890 will work with either V2.0 or 1.05

RU940 works with ProntoEdit 1.05; it might work with 2.0 (I don't think anyone has confirmed that yet)

However, DO NOT DOWNLOAD any firmware to your 940; except the firmware that is specific to the 940.

The only difference between the 940 and 890 is memory and firmware... so there must be something else up.
