I just wanted to share my excellent customer support
experience with Charlie at J&R after reading through
all the positive recommendations on this forum.

I called J&R at 1-800 221 8180 and left a voice message
at Charlie's extension (1055) this Tuesday mentioning
my interest in buying a Pronto after reading about
it at Remote Central.

Charlie called back in 15 minutes. He was very
courteous, and he knew exactly what I was looking for.
He shipped me the TSU2000 for 269.99 + $13 for shipping
2-day UPS. The unit arrived yesterday (Thursday)
just as promised.

I am already addicted with this marvel and I am
delighted with the great service offered by J&R.

This remote is a tweakers dream and I am sure I
will be spending several sleepless nights
designing my own customized interface.

Thank you all for all your thoughful contributions
to this website.

We owe it all to Daniel for coming up with this
wonderful idea.

Warm regards,

Tapas.

Tapa...

I am happy for your good experience with J&R, but I have to say that THAT is what I would call an "indirect" (third party requested) commercial ad complete with name and toll free number that people seem to be complaining about.

I am neither attacking you or saying you are wrong to help Charlie at J&R out if your experiece was obviously good. And I am appreciative of those members here who post information about my auctions running over on eBay.

However, let me share an anecdote with you based upon an actual experience that occured just today at 15:59:46.

I had a Buy It Now eBay customer purchase for $269.00 + $14.95 s/h/i a Pronto TSU2000 (eBay item# 1225616193 if you want to verify on eBay and email the Buy It Now customer) which was scanned into the USPS system at the Post Office at 16:38 (40 minutes later) for EXPRESS MAIL OVERNIGHT SATURDAY DELIVERY to my successful buyer at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

This process included my telephoning the customer in the Chicago area to gather the information I needed to expedite the shipping since they were on a dial up ISP and not a persisitant connection.

The service you received from J&R is a common one I provide in all my Buy It Now offerings on eBay that include the free upgrade to Same Day Shipping with Express Mail Overnight Delivery.

In fact, every night this week except tonight I have made a later run to my NYC area airport to accomodate west coast people and late buying east coast people, since the airport cut-off is 9P EST as opposed to 5P at my local Post Office.

I am still experimenting with this and it looks like I will have to slightly increase the price on that offering, or add an additional surcharge for after 4P EST sales to cover the airport run, but for the near future, I am leaving it alone and collecting feedback from the people who have bought the offering so that I can decide what to do in future based upon actual customer input. That's what really matters, not what I think.

I would add one other thing... With USPS, I am able to deliver on _Sunday_. (Although the first Sunday was a miserable experience in a couple of cases due to a postal error I am still trying to sort out and not because I didn't have the goods to the church on time ).

I did everything I was supposed to do but a few of the postal delivery agents who fill in for the post office as a sub-contactor for Sunday deliveries (I never knew that) really screwed up big time.

However, I refunded even the basic s/h/i to everyone involved so that they actually got free shpping, albeit a little later than it should have been.

alpha2data,
Funny how you should talk about "indirect" advertisements since you do it all the time with all those ebay auctions and direct links to your auctions.

I wish you would stop and get the hell out of this forum. It's really pissing alot of us off.

You are a complete IDIOT sir!

I would think that what would piss you off is if I stated that I was selling Prontos on eBay this weekend for:

TSU2000 $239.99

TSU2000 with DS1000 $299.99

in two separate Dutch multi-unit auctions. OR... I said

CLICK THIS LINK 2 C 4 YOURSELF & B MORE PISSED OFF

OR... if I said better hurry. One ends tomarrow late night and the other early Monday morning.

OR... if I said better hurry since these may be the last at this low a price because I think that you will be gone by the end of the week?

OR... if I simply said pick one of the above... nah, I'll make it really easy for you:

Alpha,
I could really give a F#*% what you are selling your remanufactured junk for. Obviously you think I'm one of your competitors. You are a COMPLETE IDIOT!!!!

What pisses me off is the fact that you use this forum to do your stupid advertisements and you know DAMN WELL it's not blowing over too well with us users who are here to help eachother with our Pronto issues.

You have been asked numerous times by NUMEROUS people to TAKE IT ELSWHERE but you still continue to defy the good people of this forum.

GET A LIFE LOOOOOOOOOOSER!!!!

What pisses you off is that you (probably, I of course have no way to confirm) are exactly what you say you are not, AND that your foolish inane posts don't pass the laugh test.

Additionally, you realize that there is a high probability that by the end of this coming week you are going to be so strapped that you won't be able to ride even the bus.

So, as you crack on the pressure of the reality of your acts, you get more and more over the edge.

I have an idea for you. Why don't you observe "Joseph" with "Nicole" for a while, unless of course that would make you "Unhappy".

If those names sound familiar, look in the mirror and take a group photo for posterity.

Of course, if you would like a group discount for some Prontos at the best possible price, click one of the following link:

GROUP OF TSU2000 @$239.99 TIL MONDAY

GROUP OF TSU2000 W/DS1000 @ $299.99 TIL SUNDAY LATE
