Couldn't find this in the FAQ so: What sets up the order in the Home panel? Using prontoedit 2.0 under devices I have tv, preamp, vcr-1, vcr-2, cd, 4dtv, mpeg, dvd, tuner, switch. The Home panel comes out:
First column tv, vcr-1, vcr-2, tuner, dvd. Second column is 4dtv, mpeg, preamp, switch, cd.
I have tried to move the panels in prontoedit to different positions, but that just gives odd results with the Home panel. Got an idea? Thanks

You will find it much easier to manage your home panel, if you simply uncheck the "home panels are write protected box in home|system properties to TURN OFF AUTO ALIASING. When the box is checked, the software attempts to create the home panel button labels according to the device list. This is called auto-aliasing by the developers.

The home panel button order is the order that the buttons were created. Things get really confusing if you have moved any buttons on your home panel. The original Pronto home is layed out like this:
1. Left top 2. Right top 3. Left 2nd from top etc.

Since you are describing something different I assume that you may have copied and pasted a button changing the software's list of "children" or older and younger siblings - which is what it uses to decide what label goes where.

When you have auto aliasing on, you can't really control the appearance of your home panel very well.

See the FAQ here:
