Hello,

I'm a new user of the Pronto TSU2000 and I've been taking advantage of all the great knowledge and sample CCFs posted on this site. Thanks to all the contributors.

Here's what I'm trying to do but can't seem to find a way to do it:

I have a button on my "Home" panel called "Cinema". When that button is pushed, I would like it to go to a panel with only an image on that page then perform an action (in my case, play a tune) without leaving the page/image, after completing the action, then jump to a device panel ("Cinema Panel").

I guess this could be a dumb question, but is there a way to jump to a macro, execute that macro and come back to the button for other actions ?

Thanks in advance for helping.

Every button is a macro. Use the action list for the button to set up the sequence of actions to do. Actions are delays, sounds, other button presses, jumps, etc....

Loc,

Yes that does sound doable.

Charles,

Yes, I do know that every button is a macro sort a speak because I can build commands via the action list. However, how can I jump to a panel with a frame(image only) then take an action (again in my case, play a tune) then jump to another panel.

What I know is that an action can be taken but you can not jump to a panel until an action is complete. What I need to do is sort of reverse of I know the Pronto can do.

Thanks for helping,

Loc

While you CAN jump to another button and run the macro located there, I believe the "Jump" located at the bottom of that page won't be performed. Just the way the pronto works... Might have to look for a work-around... Rob.

Rob,

That's what I have discovered so far but didn't know if there another way around it ... Thanks,

No you cannot with a Pronto.
only one jump per button and jump is done at the end.

Not exactly ideal, but you might work around this by adding a "click here to continue" button to the image only frame, and program that button do the jump.

Ok Thanks to all for answering and helping.

I also found the following in the FAQ that further & clearly answer my question:

FAQ: B7-08 Can I use more than one page jump in a macro?

Currently for the Pronto, the answer is no. You can only have one page jump, which is performed after all other commands. Note that aliases to a button with a page jump will not perform the jump.

However, the new RC5000 software allows for any number of jumps in a macro. These can be used to create crude animation, provide status updates on what's happening in long macros, or anything else you can think of. Note that if you alias to a button containing jumps, all page jumps will be performed. This means that macro will now end on the last page specified in the source button. If you would like to return to the page you called the alias from, follow the alias in the action list with a jump back to your starting screen.

Any one knows if Pronto plans to provide this function like the RC5000. I really like this & I believe it will help reduce memory by doing a return after running a macro (I like to refer it as a sub-routine sort a speak).

Thanks,

Loc

No, it's an exclusive with the Marantz unit.

I'm assuming it's a marketing decision and not a technical decision ?

It is too bad that additional jumps aren't allowed in the current release of firmware. Would be nice to see this provision added (Philips, are you listening?). Another change to the firmware would make programming easier, namely, allowing programmability of the left & right hard keys from macro groups. I'm using a technique that I first noticed in Barenada's CCF which calls routines in the macro section from the device section. This allows calling common routines such as resetting sound fields or starting the record function of a VCR, etc. from any "device", and then tapping the "device" icon to return to the calling panel. Pretty slick (way to go Dave!) Anyway, it would be nice to have left/right hard key functionality available while doing this. Anyone else like to see these features added/changed in the firmware? Rob.

Everything you are asking for is available exclusively on the Marantz versions. Since Marantz paid for the development of these features, it is unlikely that they will allow Philips or Yamaha to use them.
