I have downloaded several ccfs, including Daniel's ccfs. After downloading the ccfs into my pronto, how can I get the pronto to learn the command for my equipment. Daniel created the ccfs for different equipment and I have different equipments. Do I need to teach the pronto manually? I mean using the original remotes.

Yes. The way i see it. Unless you download a ccf off the FILES part of this site that is made for your equiptment you will need to teach the remote the proper IR codes.
Unless you merge all the ccf's for your equiptment with the one you now have (Daniels ccf) then you will have most, if not all, IR codes in the same ccf. It will then be a matter of matching up the alias.

There are several ways you can do it. but before you start, I would recommend that you study (see how it works) the CCF, so that your changes don't ruin what you want to do (the abilities of the existing CCF)
Here are the ways (it might depend on your Pronto):
1) As you mentioned relearn all buttons (it does not take as much time as you might think) --- If you have a TSU2000 and you use the database, you can pick the right buttons directly in Prontoedit
2) (if you have a TSU2000)- use default and database --- download default.ccf --- use the database to choose your device, it will learn all the commands on all the keys in one shot --- upload it to the PC --- delete everything except the devices you need (these are referred to as IRpanels, they will contain all your IR codes, used by the interface) --- hide all the good panels (get rid of the ones you don't need --- save it --- open the CCF you want to use and replace the saved one --- open the CCF that you have saved and merge the two --- replace all learnt commands on the original part with aliases to your buttons (the ones you have just added)
3) merging CCFs --- download from the file section the right devices (you don't always need an exact match) --- delete everything except the devices you need --- hide all the good panels (get rid of the ones you don't need) (these are referred to as IRpanels, they will contain all your IR codes, used by the interface, some people might be using it, if it has them it will make it easier) --- save it --- open the CCF you want to use and replace the saved one --- open the CCF that you have saved and merge the two --- replace all learnt commands on the original part with aliases to your buttons (the ones you have just added)

Thanks Erik and Anthony. You guys are great. I will try to understand some of the things you guys said. Most of it sounds like greek, but I will take time to read it carefully. If anyone else has anything to contribute, please do not hesitate to post it here.
Thanks

Erik and Anthony have given you good advice BB. I just got my Pronto last Thursday. At first I had no idea what I was doing. My suggestion is just have fun with it. The Default.CCF comes on in the Samples directory that is in the Pronto directory. So if you mess up your Pronto (like I did a few times over the past few days) just reload the default.ccf and start over. I finished off my first CCF lastnight and I'm actually a little sad about that because I had so much fun building it. You'll be an expert within a few days. Happy Beaming. M.

Hey Mike, Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I will do the best that I can. I sure hope that I will have as much fun as you did. I actually have two units. TS1000 and TSU2000. So I know I will have fun.
Thanks BB
