1) You don't need to type all in caps. 2) read the manuals you can find them in the file section 3) read the review (there is a lot of info in there) 4) read the FAQ
In Prontoedit you can merge file, and delete what you don't want.

I cant say its right but i would grab a .ccf with a device i needed, delete the devices and macros i didnt care for and then merge it with the next one i needed. Once you get that far you have time to start changing all the buttons to match while you use it on a daily basis. This will allow you to see what it doesnt do that you need and if it does things that you dont need. After that you can program "macros" these dont have to be in the macros category. Any button can be programmed to do numerous tasks.

Hey Ricki don't feel bad, you know more then I do.
I started up my Pronto and immediately murdered it. (I cancelled while downloading a home page I was playing with in Prontoedit.) Thank God for this forum and the kind advise I received here or I would have had a 'very expensive paperweight'.
Now, I'm afraid to mess with Prontoedit at all - for the time being anyway. Right now all I'm going to do is read the manuals and FAQs, as I've been so politely told to do.
Step 3) was read the reviews - what's that?

Another way is to just right click on the device you want (CD player?)choose COPY. Then open up your own CCF, choose don't merge, then right clock on the device tree, & choose PASTE. PE isn't very intuative, but stick at it - you'll get there!

I read all of the FAQ's and downloaded the Prontoedit manual and read through it several times. When i first received my Pronto i was a little intimidated and didn't think i would ever customize it. But i spent some time the first weeekend changing a few things here and there. After a while it didn't seem so hard and now there's not much about it that i can't do.
Just don't be scared to try a few changes and grow from there. Especially now that the firmware is out for the TSU-2000. No more worries about carrying an expensive "paperweight" around.
Have fun.

Lee;
If everyone did just what you did (it is the exact same approach I took one month ago when I got my TSU2000), several things would probably happen:
1) People would still find the learning curve steep, but they wouldn't need ropes & pitons to get to the top because it wouldn't seem so intimidating after the first few attempts.
2) It would mean that more users would be familiar with the FAQs & other resources available to them, which would lead to . . .
3) A lot more "Teachers" on this site.
