I can assist you on the Sony codes. You do not need to find a full .ccf for your VCR. Sony's basic codes are the same on most of their VCR's. The only thing that you have to pay attention to is what VCR setting you are using (1,2,or 3). The discrete codes for power on & off can be found in the files section. Download a .ccf for a Sony VCR close in model range to yours and try the basic commands such as play, ff, rew, pause, rec. As long as that .ccf is using the commands for the VCR setting you are using, they should work. Lost the remote on my Sony VCR so I had to do this. Everything has been working fine for the past year with no quirks.
