Well after reading the thread about people trying to get discrete codes from the manufacturers and one persons failed attempt with Sony, I figured I'd give Mitsubishi a try and see if there were more consumer friendly than Sony, and THEY WERE! Below is a method on how to get the Mitsubishi remote to transmit discrete codes:
1) Make sure remote is on TV 2) Press and hold POWER button, while holding POWER, enter 090 then release POWER Now when pressing the following buttons they will transmit discrete codes
BUTTON ---> ACTION Power Power ON Stop Power OFF PIP DTV ANT A PIP INPUT DTV ANT B PAUSE AV RESET INPUT + 1 Direct to INPUT 1 INPUT 2 Direct to INPUT 2 INPUT 3 Direct to INPUT 3/DVD (select models) INPUT 4 Direct to INPUT 4 INPUT 5 Component 1 (select models only) (this does not work on 50707) INPUT 6 Component 2 (select models only) SQV STB Input QV VGA Input PIP ch UP ANT A PIP ch DN ANT B
For direct input selection. Press INPUT and within a few seconds press the number that corresponds to the desired input. NOTE for learning remote programming: Pressing the INPUT button does NOT transmit anything until you press the number afterwards.
To exit this mode on the Mitsubishi remote Press and hold POWER then enter 000
Hope this helps

Dennis,
On my VS-45605 some worked but the one I'm dying for doesn't. A discreet code for the component input on that set. Would you mind emailing the phone number you called to get this info, perhaps they can assist.
Thx. Roger Kaufmann

Roger,
I have a VS-60607, and I have the same problem. I cannot for the like of me find a discrete for the component input. However, here is what I did, and it works fine. issue a channel up (this will switch it to Ant-A, then do a Input - this will put it in Component mode. I hope there is a discrete someplace, but if not that works.

Dennis: Did you answer the questions above about how you contacted Mitsubishi? I have the new SR-HD5 satellite HiDef decoder and need the discrete codes for the SD/HD toggle badly. Could you give us the contact info? Also if anyone out there has the discrete codes, let me know. I've also posted this request as a separate thread. thanks

I tried this on my Mitsubishi CS-35403 but it didn't work. When I held down the Power button it turned on the TV but didn't output anyof the discrete codes.

I have a Mits HD1080 (80"). I have all the ones listed above from the files download section of this forum. I would love to get discrete codes for turning PIP on and off and for PIP inputs. Does anyone know if these exist.
