Hi Marc, Am trying to decide whether to purchase Pronto2000. Dealers saying must almost be programmer status to use. If meeting with other two guys, etc., would appreciate an E-mail.

I'm in Chicago (just south of Evanston) and willing to help. I'm not a pro, but can get most things done.

I live in Schaumburg and work my Day job in the downtown LOOP area. I started programming RC-5000's and Prontos about a year an a half ago while in school and still do a lot of programming and set up as a side job for individuals by request and for 2-3 different retailers/installers. The program isn't that difficult to learn to use... the trick is to know what you need to make the remote do, and more importantly how your components all operate. For simple quirks post here or e-mail me, and if you decide you want some help through some of the major hurdles we can work something out. Mark Seaton [email protected]

I think i can get the basics down but just like most others i paid good money for this thing and want to get the most out of it. And WOW people when they come over and see the "Home Theater". Is anyone starting a Yahoo E-Group? These things have started a major following. What are the RC5000's? Just a bit better than the TS2000

Erik you will be able to find out the full extent of differences in the review and the FAQ. Except for a few differences (features, colour, accessories) they are the same remote but from differently branded, here is a table with the big differences:
---------Philips-----------------Marantz ---------Pronto------------------RC5000 ------US---------Europe 1M--TS100(0)-----RU890-----------RC5000 2M--TSU2000------RU940-----------RC5000i
