Has anyone managed to find a code that switches the TV ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 as described earlier in this post... Switching to HD/SD works great but the picture is distorted if you are going from a 16:9 TV to a 4:3 and back. It is a pain to have to go into the menu everytime and writing a macro has proved impossible as you can not be sure where you will start in the setup screen.

Been on vacation. Glad to see this thread still alive. Not glad to see no one has figured out the Format discretes.

A note on the format issue. You don't have to go into the menu. Push "Action" and "8" to toggle between formats on the SR-HD400.

My 16:9 Mitsu TV remote can be "learned" for the format function as it has a dedicated key. But when in DTV mode, the SR-HD400 controls the picture format which requires you to hit "Action" first and then "8". Very frustrating.

Still keeping my fingers crossed that someone comes up with the discretes.

The action 8 sequence only changes the cropping of the picture not the format for 4:3 - 16:9. That is in the menu.... This is the code we are trying to get the action 8 is easy to program into the Pronto.

Trevor:

So if I understand correctly, you're feeding signals to two TV's (a 16:9 AND a 4:3) from the same HD400. I'm only running a 16:9 from my HD400 and don't need to change formats just cropping.

I've tried to program the Action 8 sequence but have not had any luck. I've got the Action function followed by a delay (tried from .1 to 2 secs) and the 8 key but can't get it to work. Sure would appreciate your advice.

I am feeding two TV's one 16:9 the other 4:3 (not at the same time) So I have to go into the menu system every time. On the action 8 sequence you don't need to record the action button only the 8 button. Press the action button pointing away from your pronto then learn the 8 button. Pressing the action button changes the output from the remote the next time it is pressed. This also works for the shift between HD and SD you don't need to program the action key just the subsequent button. Hope this helps.
