Does anyone use anything on the screen of their Pronto/RC5000 to prevent scratching, lengthen life?
On Palm forums I have heard people talk about using OHP acetates cut down or various other things.
I want to make sure my newly aquired remote lasts as long as possible.
Thanks, Bruce.

I use a product called writeRight from Concept Kitchen on my Palm V. I like the texture it adds to the Palm screen. I am not sure I would like this on my Pronto though...anyone every try these on a Pronto?

There have been earlier threads about this same subject. I'm sure if you do a search you'll find info about others who have used them.

I have been using a Pronto as our only remote for the past 11 months. We have three kids. The remote has be dropped plenty and has had tons of use. I was initially worried about the screen, but I never got around to ordering screen protectors. Well...after nearly a year of heavy use, the screen is still perfect.
I wouldn't bother...joe

I use the write right on both my Palm and my Pronto. The screens are the same size. You have to get it positioned just right but it works great. Actually makes the screen look better. About 12 bucks for 6 at Office Depot.

Try to find the Write Right protectors for the Palm IIIc Color Palm Pilot. Those are the ones I have. Unlike the other models they sell, there's no texture to them, just perfectly clear protection, and it fits the Pronto screen perfectly (after 20 minutes of adjusting).

Unless you're using a stylus or some other hard "pointer" other than your finger on your Pronto, I don't see as there should be any particular need for a screen protector.
But, then again, at well over $200 (in some cases over $300) I guess a tenth-of-an-ounce of protection isn't uncalled for.
Personally, i just use my finger and when the screen gets too encrusted with sticky stuff from junk food, I just throw it in the dishwasher on low heat. Just don't forget to use the JetDry for spotfree surfing!
(Just kidding . . . Actually I take it down to the carwash ! ! !).
