copying 'learned' codes

I have been taking advantage of the many excellent examples posted on this message board to get my new TSU2000 up and running. I have run into a problem with a couple of examples I found for my Yamaha 2090 preamp.

I can reference the existing 'learned' commands without a problem. When I copy and paste the IR codes into my own command panel/macro (or into a button on the existing panel/macro) the emulator dies with a programming exception. This happens in both WIN98 and WIN2K. When download, the IR codes work as expected.

The original action type is [C]Learned and the new action type of the pasted IR code is just the [C] without any type of label. As a matter of fact, even if I try to label the newly created action it does not show up in the action list and does not save it in the IR definition page.

I have tried starting with a learned code and then copying the new IR value over it an starting with a UDB and then changing that. The emulator still dies....

Any ideas or work around?

Thanks
JO

That's the problem. It's a bug. It will still work on the actual remote.

Alias the codes instead of copying them. It takes up less space. Not to mention, what would happen if you found out that the code did not get learned properly, extra bits, non-detected repeats etc. You would have to relearn it and then copy it to all the buttons and macros that contain a copy of the code. An alias simply points to a code or macro on another button (like a Windows shortcut)

Alasing one code in multiple spots is certainly the way to go, although that won't work if you're pasting a discrete code or something you can't learn...
