Well now I did it. I downloaded 1.05, and after things stopped working, I tried using Norton to remove and download,reinstall--download,reinstall etc.. I had afunctional 1.03. Now after installing when I try to run pronto edit I get:

The prontoedit.exe file is
linked to missing export
PRONTOUTIL.DLL:[email protected]@[email protected]
OK

AND I get

C;\Program Files\Pronto|ProntoEdit.exe

A device attached to the system is not Functioning.

As I said, tried several times to delete and reinstall No luck, same error message.

Anybody got a way out of this--short of using a different computer, This one is Win98, PII, 128 RAM .

Thoughts?

Thanks
Bill

I'd suggest downloading it again (your copy may be corrupt) and re-installing it.

Thanks Daniel

I tried that about four times downloading from this site. No change. Over at AVS Tim Rudolpht thought maybe I had to have the pronto connected during the reinstall, since the one message suggests some lack of a recognized connection. Any further thoughts?

Thanks
Bill

Are you installing to the default location (c:\program files\pronto\...")?

If yes then:

I suggest manually deleting the pronto sub-directory and all of it's files. I suspect that when you re-install, the installer is not overwriting the existing files.

It's located int the Program Files directory.

Also delete the file c:\windows\pronto.ini

Then re-install from scratch....

If not then try to install to the default directory...

Deleted the pronto.ini from the Windows Directory and downloaded, installed and Great--it Worked. Thank You!!
I have done this before with big programs with lots of ini info, but with the small file size, I did not think it would make a differenc, Not.

Thanks Again!!
