I have noticed lines appearing in my remote's LCD when the LCD is backlit.

Most noticable when selecting something out of the device menu.

(Backlight is on for this).....
For instance I have a grid of black buttons set up for cable remote, when I click on device menu to select my receiver I can see a soft dark line extend above the grid where there space between the buttons exist. Kind of like a negative, upward bleeding of the space
between the buttons.

Make sense?
Anyone seen this on their remote?
LCD bad?
Normal?

I have tried to adjust contrast, only helps if I go really dark.

This is normal for passive matrix LCD screens. it usually appears when you have dark areas aligned vertically or horizontally. You can minimize this with the contrast control, or try to break up your layout so that you don't have dark areas aligned so evenly.
hope this helps
